I was thinking about some of the my favorite graphic novel covers and felt like creating one of my own. I really like the way the red just pops.

I wanted to go somewhere different with this collection. I have never created any artwork based off of any sports figure, and thought there was no better figure to start with than the ‘pound for pound’ greatest boxer of all times. I wanted explore his different faces and phases. I really had a lot of fun creating this collection, and I love the way it came together.

This is a collection of digital paintings I created to honor the 343 firefighters that died during 9-11. I was so moved by my thoughts of that day and all the brave firefighters that lost their lives trying to save others. And it is that type of sacrifice that speaks volumes about he human spirit.

Without question The Green Hornet is one of my favorite retro tv show. I mean who can argue against a show that had Bruce Lee in a black mask running through the streets of California. I wanted to pay tribute to two major moments in American history that we celebrate this year. And that is the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. And I thought I would start with one of my favorite civil rights icons “Frederick Douglass.” He was simple a force to be reckoned with, between his booming voice and huge frame. He was definitely a man amongst men, and an amazing writer. So here’s a toast to Freedom, cheers!

I believe James Dean was the embodiment of a “Rebel.” The way he lived his life was raw and candid. In every role he played he left you craving for more, because of how emotionally attached he made you to all his characters.

The artwork in this collection was inspired by Dean’s legendary “Torn Sweater” photo-shoot. I have always loved the way the lens seemed to capture him in such a raw, unabashed way. It’s one of the earliest glimpses into who this complex man would become. And I could not resist the urge to dedicate a series of pieces to the man who is forever remembered as the ultimate “Rebel.”
